Craps Strategies For The Intermediate Craps Player

Congratulations on reaching the intermediate level of craps play!! Now is when the real fun starts and your chances for beating the craps tables becomes a reality.

At this point you understand the game, rules, bets, payouts, house edge, have a feel for the ebbs and flows of the game and hopefully have worked on your level of discipline and money management in playing the game.

You understand that the probability and odds are in the casino’s favor ‘IN THE LONG RUN’, and you know that there is no single strategy that will beat the craps table due to the house edge on each of the bets.

But… At this level, we’re NOT playing the ‘LONG RUN’ and we’re NOT counting on luck to win. We ARE playing the SHORT RUN, we ARE monitoring the table trends, we ARE disciplined in our money management, and we ARE applying the right betting strategies from our toolbox to take advantage of the ebbs and flows, and trends in the game.

To succeed at this level of play, you should be;

  • Finalizing the ‘Money Management’ strategy you’ll utilize
  • Selecting the 3 to 4 ‘right side’ and 1 to 2 ‘dark side’ betting strategies that you’re comfortable with to include in your ‘craps toolbox’
  • Practicing your ability to identify trends at the craps table, and
  • Experimenting with each of the above before ever placing real money on the table

As they’re available, articles will be listed below that should be of help to you.

Money Management

The core of any effective gambling effort starts with the establishment of an appropriate bankroll to fund your betting and strictly disciplined money management.

Betting Systems

Most betting systems involve altering the size of bets based on the last outcome in an effort to change the way wins and losses are incurred. They cannot change the house edge or casino advantage in the long term, but can alter the outcomes in the short term.

Betting Strategies

Contrary to popular belief, you should have a repertoire (toolbox) of strategies that you’re ready to use at the craps tables. (2 to 3 ‘Do’ strategies, 1 or 2 ‘Don’t’ strategies, and at least 1 ‘Choppy’ strategy.)

Trend Identification

Let the current trend at the table guide which strategies you’re going to deploy and bet with. To do that, you need to be able to assess the current trend and be able to identify changes in trends. The post below should be helpful in doing so.
